What happens during my assessment?

We offer a free half an hour assessment, during which time it will give you the opportunity to meet your counsellor, tell your story and decide the best course of action for yourself. During this time it will give you the chance to ask any questions you may have about the service we offer.

How long do I have to come for?

You do not have to come. This service is for you and we are lead by you and your needs. During your assessment we can discuss the potential length of your therapy.

How do I know you wont tell my stuff to other people?

We are bound by the Code of Ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. You can read the Code at www.bacp.co.uk.

If you have any cause for concern you can contact them directly.

As part of working ethically we attend supervision and may discuss clients in order to think of ways to further support you. During supervision your name and details are kept anonymous to protect your confidentiality.

How often should I come?

Again, this is down to personal preference and other commitments. It is advised to attend weekly to start with but fortnightly and monthly sessions are available also.

What happens during my session?

Sessions belong to you, we are lead by you and your journey. Some sessions may be used as an opportunity for you to tell your story and others may be solution focused. Each session may be different.

How long are my sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes long. Check the costs page for more information.
